As a communication strategist, I have a pretty busy schedule. But this month has been particularly hectic as I’ve been traveling through five different cities in just thirty days, and soon to be six.

Venice
This one is easy: Venice is where I live and work remotely. I feel a special connection with this city: I’ve lived here for almost 10 years and I still don’t want to leave. It truly feels like home, with a human dimension that allows you to connect with the urban atmosphere, others, and yourself. It’s the perfect place to live as a creative.
Verona
Lately, I have been traveling to Verona 2 to 3 times a month. A few years ago, I was honored to be appointed as the Photography teacher at Maffei High School (the same school that I attended as a student!). Recently, I have also been assigned the role of Advertising Strategies teacher for the final year students. The amusing part of this job is that some of my former teachers are now my colleagues.
Treviso
Once a week, I travel to Treviso to work for the eyewear brand Miga Studio. This company was once my employer, where I worked as an in-house graphic designer, and now they are my main client. While I enjoy being a smart-working freelancer, I still love spending time in the office because I get to interact with my colleagues and work on projects in a hands-on manner.
Rome
My third stop was Rome, where I went to start collaborating for a distillery newspaper. Rome is a city that needs no introduction, as it’s known for its history, art, and architecture. The distillery newspaper was a new project for me, but I was excited to be a part of it. I got to interview some of the distillery’s key players and learn about their process and products. It was a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and network.
Zurich
Finally, I wrapped up my travels this month with a vacation in Zurich. I wanted to improve my German language skills and explore the city while also (why not?) searching for job opportunities. Zurich is a beautiful city with lots of opportunities and cultural inspirations, so it was the perfect place to mix business with pleasure.

Next step: Milan
Yes, I know: it’s not actually within the last 30 days, but I’ll be soon visiting Milan for an interesting event. I’ve been wanting to visit Packaging Premiere for a long time, but I couldn’t due to strict office hours. Now that I’m a freelancer I have more control over my schedule and I’ll make time to attend this inspiring fair!
And I’m loving it!
Traveling to five different cities in one month was tiring but also incredibly rewarding and stimulating. As a communication strategist, traveling to different places is essential for me to broaden my horizons and to stay creative. I look forward to visiting many more cities in the future and sharing my experiences with others.
What should be my next step?
